Black or white

Black or white (Chris Engels)
As we grow up and face the world,
We learn of good and evil, unfurled,
And though we may be young and swirled, Our hearts and minds can be unfurled. We grapple with the truth and lies,
And navigate the world's disguise,
But in the end, love never dies,
And in its warmth, our heart relies.
We learn that life is not just black or white, And shades of grey can bring delight,
For in the darkness, there's still light,
And hope can guide us through the night. So let us grow and learn with grace,
And seek the good in every place,
For in this world, love is the base,
That makes life's journey worth the race.

Do I want to live forever? (Chris Engels)
Will I live forever, or will my time expire?
What lies beyond the veil, after my last desire?
I have just one life to live, but will it be enough?
To experience all the beauty, and endure the tough?
As I gaze upon the stars, and ponder my fate,
I wonder what comes next, beyond life's earthly gate.
Is there a realm beyond, or just eternal sleep?
Will I find peace and rest, or struggle in the deep?
Yet in this fleeting moment, I choose to live with zest, To take each precious day, and make it truly blessed.
To seek out joy and love, and hold them close to heart, And share them with the world, before I must depart. For life is but a moment, a brief and fleeting flame,
That flickers for a time, then fades away in shame.
But if we live with purpose, and seize each passing day, Our light will shine forever, and never fade away.
So let us live with passion, and chase our wildest dreams, And dance beneath the stars, and bathe in moonlit beams. For though our time is limited, and death draws ever near, We can leave a lasting legacy, and conquer all our fears. In the end, it matters not, what lies beyond the veil,
For we have lived our lives, and left our own grand tale. So let us seize this moment, and live it to the full,
And cherish every moment, before our final lull.

Heart and soul (Chris Engels)
A young man sets out to find
The meaning of his life, his mind
In search of value, worth and truth
He leaves behind his misspent youth He travels far and wide, alone
In foreign lands, his fate unknown
He meets new faces, learns their ways Gains wisdom in the passing days
The journey's end, he finds at last
The answer that he sought so fast
The sum of all his experiences
Is what gives life its own significance And so the young man comes to see That his worth is found in simply being That the purpose of his life, it seems
Is to live it fully, chase his dreams.

Illusions

Illusions (Chris Engels)
Life's meaning we seek to find,
Chasing happiness, a state of mind,
Our desires often lead us blind,
To what truly makes our soul aligned.
We chase after the illusive gleam,
Of wealth, fame, and things supreme,
But often find ourselves empty and lean, Yearning for more, a never-ending scheme. To find true purpose, we must unwind, Let go of our wants, our needs refined, Discover the center, where peace entwined, And true contentment, we will surely find. In the rhythm of life, we must dance, Finding balance, taking a chance,
Trusting in the universe's expanse,
To lead us to our life's true romance.

Passon´s fire

Passion's fire (Chris Engels)
Passion burns, a fiery flame
Love ignites, a flickering game
But jealousy lurks, a shadow of pain
And heartache follows, like a pouring rain
Alone I stand, with my heart on my sleeve
Torn apart, unable to believe
That love can be so cruel and unkind
Leaving me with nothing but a shattered mind Egoism reigns, a selfish desire
To possess and control, like a raging fire
But love cannot be tamed, it cannot be owned
And in the end, we are left alone
So let us learn, from the pain we endure
And from the love that we once adored
For passion and love are not enough
Without trust, honesty, and the courage to be tough
Egoism reigns, a selfish desire
To possess and control, like a raging fire
But love cannot be tamed, it cannot be owned And in the end, we are left alone
Solo
In the end, we must let go of our fears
And embrace the love that still pe-rse-veres
For in the depths of our souls, we-will find
That love is the one thing that truly binds.
Egoism reigns, a selfish desire
To possess and control, like a raging fire
But love cannot be tamed, it cannot be owned And in the end, we are left alone

Peter

Peter (Chris Engels)
Peter asks his father with a sigh,
"Why do humans make wars and fight?
Why does good seem weaker, with a weaker might?
Why do the ruthless gain power, while the selfless die?" His father answers with a tear in his eye,
"Son, it's the nature of mankind,
Some seek power and control, and are blind,
To the pain they inflict, they turn a deaf ear and a blind eye." "But father," Peter persists with a plea,
"Shouldn't we strive for peace and love?
Shouldn't we rise above,
The greed and selfishness that we see?"
His father nods with a smile,
"Indeed, my son, that is the way,
To create a better world, day by day,
With kindness and compassion as our style."
"So let us work towards a future bright,
Where war and violence are no more,
And love and peace are at the core,
Of humanity's shining light."

Poe

Poe (Chris Engels)
In the shadows of his mind,
Edgar Poe did find
A world of darkness, fear, and lore
That inspired him evermore.
His tales of horror and despair
Captured readers everywhere
With tales of madness and revenge
That haunted them until the end.
Bridge:
And so he left us far too soon
His legacy, a lasting boon
To all who love the written word
And to the stories that he stirred. Poe
But as the years went by too fast
Poe's life was haunted by his past
His battles with addiction and grief
Were too much for his soul to keep.
His poems and stories were dark,
Filled with death, horror and sin,
They spoke of the soul and its abysses
And left his readers in a state of bliss.
Refrain:
And so he left us far too soon
His legacy, a lasting boon
To all who love the written word
And to the stories that he stirred. Poe

Pride

Pride (Chris Engels)
Pride can be a slippery slope,
Leading us down a path of no hope,
But with humility, we can cope,
And learn to see the beauty of the scope. Jealousy can poison the soul,
Making us feel less than whole,
But with kindness, we can console,
And find peace in the moments we stole. Our needs are a part of life,
But to chase wealth can cause strife,
For in the end, what's left is the knife,
And the true riches are found in our inner life. Respect is the foundation of trust,
A virtue that never collects dust,
For with it, we can create a just,
And equitable world without any fuss.
So let us be humble and fair,
And treat each other with loving care,
For in the end, it's not what we wear,
But how we live that makes life truly rare.

Our fight

Our fight (Chris Engels)
We come into this world, with no say in the matter,
Trying our best, hoping for things to get better,
But the injustice we see can often make us frown,
We must keep pushing forward, even when we feel down. Life can be unfair, but we must not give in,
We must persevere, and keep on fighting to win,
Though some have it all, while others have so little,
We must find a way to survive, to make our lives meaningful. Sometimes it can feel like we're alone in this world,
But we must remember, we're not just a boy or a girl,
We're a part of something bigger, something divine,
We must keep pushing forward, and let our light shine.
So let us make the most of the time we have,
And let us be grateful for all that we've had,
For even in the darkest of days, there is hope,
And with that hope, we can learn to cope.

The beauty of solitude
05:09
|

the beauty of solitude (Chris Engels)
Alone, yet not lonely
Age has taught me well
The arrogance of youth
No respect they can tell
But new isn't always good
Respect for life is the key
Chorus:
Oh, the beauty of solitude
The peace that comes with age Respect for every living thing
The world's greatest sage
Verse 2:
To be young and carefree
To think you know it all
But age brings perspective
And wisdom stands tall
No need for constant company Respect is all we need
Verse 3:
The world may change around us But some things remain the same The value of experience
The respect we should proclaim Youth may hold the future
But age holds the key
Verse 4:
So let us not forget
The wisdom of the past
The value of our elders
Their knowledge unsurpassed
For in respecting every life
We find the world's true harmony
